Biography:
Mat is a serving Metropolitan Police Officer and has been an instructor with (Institute) Krav Maga UK since its establishment in 2006.
Mat spent the first fourteen years patrolling the streets of West London and Soho carrying out general policing duties and dealing with incidents of public order disturbances. In 1997 he became an Officer Safety Instructor to Police Officers and Civilian Staff teaching the use of batons, handcuffs, CS Spray, Physical Arrest and Restraint in conjunction with legislation in the use of force. Mat has also conducted a large number of seminars to private companies’ on personal safety issues for the Metropolitan Police.
Mat is a certified instructor within the National Federation of Personal Safety holding a BTEC Level 2 in Physical Restraint Practice and BTEC Level 3 in Advance Coaching in Physical Restraint. He is also a qualified Emergency Life Support and Automatic Electronic Defibrillator Instructor.
Mat spent a number of years in the Krav Maga system as a student reaching Practitioner Level 3 before applying for and successfully completing the International Krav Maga Federation Civilian Instructors Course.
He is responsible for the design and implementation of (Institute) Krav Maga UK Limited Corporate Training Packages in Personal Safety and for Restraint and Conflict Management training specifically for Security personnel. |
