Another sound piece of advice here from Jon and one that his team consistently deliver in classes. 'Street' fights are desperate, frantic, clawing, slashing affairs, and one well-delivered punch or kick is not likely in truth to end them. You have to keep goring till he's snoring.

These principles were dinned into us over and over and over again at the Combat and Fighting Skills Master Class on Sunday. It was relentless and exhausting but immensely beneficial and I would urge anyone who wants to turbocharge their KMG learning to grab a place on the next available class day. It's incredibly good value for the money, as well as being a genuinely different, worthwhile, interesting and - dare I say it - enjoyable way to spend a Sunday. Jon, Joe, Tibor, Andy, Sam and Magda put on a helluva display and it was a treat to watch these guys in action.

Get involved, and get on the next Master Class people.

I totally agree here. Look at the majority of students grade throughout the country and you see this all the time. Mainly because their instructors invest little time in tool and target development. Or more often than not the instructor has a poor background in striking, footwork and timing. Spend more time training strikes and less time releasing against your favourite wrist grab.

Jon. Just wanted to say I'd read this blog before and thought I understood the breathing method. You showed me in class last Wednesday that I hadn't...but now I have! It all clicked ...and made me realise why I've been getting SOOOO knackered. Andy has commented on this a number of times as well but your method of explaining it just worked this time. Many thanks.

I guess it has to do as well with the mind set, We've been taught what we don't have to do that change to the KM set of mind is difficult and only can be achieve with training. How many times we've been told not to bite or kick the groin; but after training KM for some time now is natural to target the groin. Thanks Jon for remind us what we want and need to achieve by Training Krav Maga.

Keep them coming I find this blogs push me harder and in right direction everytime I read.

Not a trainee of yours Jon as you know but a very well written blog on something I greatly believe in after being in let's say some confrontations in non training situations. When you go to ground especially with my limited knowledge on floor work I am a great believer of getting back on your feet as soon as possible especially in multiple person confrontations. Cheers mate
